Baby Goats

Within minutes of being born they walk around
Bleat, Bleat, Bleat are baby goat sounds
Baby goats are fun to watch as they play
When they jump on and off the bales of hay
They also like to run and leap for fun
When outside in the fresh air and sun
Baby goats are called kids for awhile
To watch the baby goats at play will make you smile

Dalmatian Dog

I had a dog with many, many spots
His spots looked like little black dots
I tried to count them all one day
He would not sit still, and wanted to play
He liked to chase the yellow tennis balls
My Dalmatian was two feet tall
This breed a favorite of mine
With happy memories from another time

Horses

Horses a great pleasure to ride
Especially on a nice day outside
Horses like to eat grass and hay
Watch the horses in the pasture at play
Horses love to run around free
They are such beautiful creatures to see
Horses enjoy delicious treats
Fresh carrots and large apples to eat

Ice Cream

I like to eat ice cream on a hot, hot day
You need to eat it fast before it melts away
Ice cream, ice cream brings a smile to one and all
Doesn’t matter what size you are short or tall
Any flavor on a cone or in a dish
Ice cream added to a milkshake is delish
Ice cream is a universal treat, can’t be beat
In the very hot dog days of summer’s heat

Lollipops

Lollipops, lollipops a fond memory you see
A twice a week special treat for me
With unique flavors and colors galore
I could buy at the town grocery store
Many flavors and colors on display
Which lollipops to pick out today
The memories of those times oh so good
Lollipops a favorite of my entire childhood

Root beer floats

Memories of root beer floats in my mind
Remind me of a long, long-ago time
Making the root beer floats was fun to do
A tall glass and long spoon will only do
Scoops of ice cream and root beer in the glass
Eat the ice cream and drink the root beer last
Homemade root beer floats are a nice cold treat
A great way to beat the hot Summer heat

Alarm Clock

Alarm clocks come in all shapes and sizes too
The clocks wake you up to start the day anew
Waking you up, alarm clock’s radio can do
Or the constant buzzing sound will wake you too
Several rings and rings until I awake
The alarm clock can keep me from being late

Ferris Wheel

Our favorite ride the Ferris wheel
Seventy-five cents per ride was a great deal
Riding the Ferris wheel at the fair
With my wonderful beau up in the air
Up and down and up and down we’d go
We could see everything so far down below
Fifteen minutes the ride did last
Nostalgic memories, a blast from the past

Kindness

Kindness an act that comes from the heart
Kindness is a good deed on your part
Kindness is a trait that is worthwhile
Kindness can be displayed by a smile
Kindness gestures can portray so much
Kindness can be a soft gentle touch
Kindness love and hugs given freely
Kindness from everyone ideally

Player Piano

A player piano in our large living room
A priceless inherited family heirloom
Being almost over seventy-five years old
On top a case that holds the perforated rolls
Automatically plays the music to sing too
With some family dancing that is impromptu
Two times every week and holidays all year long
Family members sing and dance to great old songs

Umbrellas

Umbrellas come in many patterns and colors too
Some that are small for travel and larger able to fit two
A pattern of polka dots will always do
In my favorite color of a dark shade of blue
You need to be aware on windy rainy days
To stay attentive so it does not blow away
I keep a small travel umbrella that stays in my car
And a large blue polka dot at home in the hall armoire

Zookeeper

Being a zookeeper was a dream job for me
Working with the many animals from A-Z
As a zookeeper you are busy every day
And you never knew what really would come your way
The new baby animals were cute as could be
A pleasure to watch them grow was great to see
Watching the visitors and the animals too
Interacting brought great joy to me, it’s true
